New River Trail Bike Ride Location: Postal code 28212, United States Charlotte, North Carolina 28212 Starts at: 8:30 AM This is not an all day event Description: We'll meet and caravan to Virgina to bike on the New River Bike Trail, a rail trail that's a 55 mile linear state park along the New River, one of the oldest rivers in the world. The trail is relatively flat and crosses trestles and goes through tunnels. The ride will be out and back, so you can go as far as you want. It will take about 2 hours to get there. There is a $2.00 per car parking fee at Foster Falls where we will park. You will need a mountain bike (or possibly a hybrid will work), a helmet (must), a replacement tube and pump (if you have one), water and lunch and a change of clothes for the ride back. You may want to bring snacks for along the trail. Also bring rain gear as thunder showers pop up frequently in the afternoon in this area. This event will be co-lead by Carrie.
